Brian T. Anderson Type 3 Funeral Director
Brian has been a funeral director since 1980 when following his graduation from New England Institute, Boston he went to work with his father in the operation of their funeral home in Townsend. Brian resides in Ayer with his wife, Annie and three daughters, Libbie, Julie, and Abigail. Brian continues his commitment to the community as a member of the Board of Directors on the Ayer Board of Senior Housing. Board of Directors Ayer Industrial Development Finance Authority, Member of St. Anthony’s Church, Shirley as well as a member of its Finance Committee and a member of the Board of Directors; Rollstone Bank & Trust, Fitchburg.
Michael D. Masciarelli Funeral Director
Michael joined the Anderson Funeral Home staff in June of 2014. He brings 25 years of experience in funeral service which dates back to the 1980s.
Michael serves as a commissioner on the Parks Department for the Town of Lunenburg and for the past several years he has volunteered as a coach in Lunenburg Little League and Lunenburg Jr. Basketball programs. He is a member of St. Boniface Parish and the Fitchburg Knights of Columbus and serves on the Board of Directors for the Lunenburg Memorial Fund. Michael resides in Lunenburg on Hickory Hills Lake with his wife, Betsy, and their two daughters, Gabby and Molly.
Karen L. Shorey Office Manager
Karen holds the position of Office Manager for the three funeral homes and is based in the Fitchburg office. Her duties include specialized clerical work in support of the funeral directors and families served at the funeral homes. Karen graduated from Ayer High School and worked 29 years as the lead account manager at Courier of Westford before joining the firm in March 2016. She resides in Shirley with her husband, Larry and their son, Derek.
Jessica L. Coulter Registered Apprentice
Working in the funeral service business for 7 years, Jessica specializes in the physical care of the deceased. She is a talented photographer and animal lover and enjoys spending time with her daughter, Callie.
Kim Valerius Communications Coordinator, Graphic Designer
KIM VALERIUS, Communications Coordinator, Graphic Designer
Joining the firm in 2018, Kim conducts our at need funeral
coordination and manages the communications efforts for our
funeral homes. She also designs and produces our print and
promotional materials. She attended Massachusetts College of Art and Boston University and has a diverse background in
design, illustration, and communications. She is a Conservation
Commission volunteer and enjoys running, and hiking the deep woods of New Hampshire where she resides.
