Shannon M. (Dunbar) Williams

Lunenburg: Shannon Williams, a cherished wife and devoted mother passed away on August 3, 2024, at the age of 42, after a courageous and dignified battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Born on September 5, 1981, Shannon’s radiant spirit and unwavering kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Shannon was the beloved wife to Craig Williams, and an adoring mother to their two sons, Spencer and Colin. Her love for her family was boundless and unyielding. She was not only a guiding light in their lives but also a source of endless encouragement, warmth, and laughter. Shannon’s greatest joy came from watching her boys grow, and her legacy of love and support will forever remain with them. In addition to her immediate family, Shannon is survived by her parents, Lawrence E. and Jane E. (Gillis) Dunbar; sisters, Erin Hebert, and her husband, Jack of Townsend, and Maggie Caissie, and her husband Joseph of Ashby; her cherished nieces and nephew, Maura Hebert, Alannah Hebert, Grayson Hebert and Isla Caissie; also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister She’lagh Dunbar. Shannon’s battle with ALS was marked by extraordinary resilience and an inspiring ability to find joy and meaning in each moment. Her strength and optimism were a source of inspiration to her family and friends, demonstrating a profound grace in the face of adversity. Her spirit will shine on by all who knew her for the love she gave, the battle she fought, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her. A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held on August 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, 1 School St. in Townsend, followed by a reception to share memories and support one another. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 8 from 4-7 PM at Anderson Funeral Home at 250 Main St., Townsend, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Spencer and Colin’s college fund by Venmo @WilliamsBoysCollegeFund or through ‘Craig Wiliams - Shannon Williams Memorial Fund’ care of Workers Credit Union. Burial will be held at North Cemetery in Lunenburg.
