Roselyn V. Morton

TOWNSEND : Roselyn Virginia Morton, 73, a longtime resident of Townsend passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 20, 2023 at her home. Roselyn was born in Lowell, March 4, 1949, one of six children born to Walter F. Morton Jr. and Jean L. (Hosmer) Morton – Lamy. She was a 1967 graduate of Groton High School and continued her education at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. During the Vietnam conflict, Roselyn proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. For over 35 years, Roselyn worked as a customer service representative at New England Business Service and later Deluxe, in Groton, retiring in December 2020. Rosie was a vibrant and beautiful person inside and out. Her memorable laugh was contagious. She always had a smile and a listening ear. When asked how she was, she would often respond, “Not too bad for an old broad”. She loved to dance and sang beautifully. She loved the sunshine and enjoyed playing golf, the beach, and working in her garden. Rosie brought beautiful color to her yard every year. She had a gift for painting, and we cherish the pieces she lovingly gave us. Rosie was like a mom to so many. We would all look forward to meeting at her home, Grand Central Station, for her wonderful dinners we lovingly referred to as Rosie din-din. She will be missed so much by us all. We will carry her beautiful memory in our hearts forever. Rosie leaves behind her daughter, Hillary LaMay of Templeton, MA; her son, Michael LaMay and his wife, Lulu of San Pedro, CA; four brothers, Tim Morton and his wife, Deborah and Daniel Morton and his wife, Beth of Townsend, MA, Jon Morton of Bridgton, ME, and Steven Morton and his wife, Sally of Groton, MA; four grandchildren, Marley Roy, Ella Rose Escabi, Gracie Rose LaMay, Charlie LaMay; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, Robert Lamy, and her brother, Joseph Morton. Rosie’s family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation from 2-4pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (Rte 119) in Townsend Center. The visitation will be followed by a time of reflection at 4pm. At the conclusion of the services, the family invites everyone to join them for a time of fellowship at the VFW Function Facility, 491 Main St., Townsend.
