Richard F. Marceau

LUNENBURG: Richard F. Marceau, 89, a longtime Lunenburg resident, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, West Boylston. He is now reunited in heaven with the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Rita J. (McDermott) Marceau, who died December 30, 2021. Dick was born in Fitchburg, December 15, 1934, a son of the late Theodore J. Marceau, Sr. and Doris (Reynolds) Cormier and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. From 1954 - 1958 Dick served his country as an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force. Dick worked in various sales positions until landing is dream job selling beer and wine until his retirement. For over 35 years Dick worked as a salesperson for Consolidated Beverage Company in Auburn. He was fondly known as “The Bud Man”. He truly enjoyed his job and all the people he met along the way. In his leisure time he loved to tinker. He was very mechanical and could fix just about anything and would keep at until the job was done. He was the “you tube man” before it even became a thing. He is survived by his daughter Karen L. Peters and husband, George, of Westminster; his son, Steven and his wife Marie of Lunenburg, four grandchildren, Kori Towle and her partner Albert Ortiz of Fitchburg, Carissa Dunlop and husband Max of Peabody, Kristofer Towle of Ashburnham and Abbey Marceau of Virginia; five great-grandchildren, Xayan, Nickolus, Kayden, Eliaz and Mia. He was predeceased by his sons Richard Ricky Marceau of Acton and Robert Marceau as an infant and his brother, Theodore J. “Ted “ Marceau, Jr. of Lunenburg. Dick was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church in Lunenburg. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Leominster Lodge of Elks # 137. He and his wife enjoyed the winters they spent at their home in Siesta Key, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at St. Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Avenue, Lunenburg. His family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation period from 9:30 -10:30 Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd.
