Kenneth S. Tibbetts, of Mason, NH

Mason, NH – Kenneth S. Tibbetts, 80, of Mason, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. Ken was born on January 16, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late Ralph F. and Alma Jean (Scott) Tibbetts. He grew up in Mason, New Hampshire, and Townsend, Massachusetts, and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School with the Class of 1964. Ken met his wife after high school in 1964, and together they shared 62 wonderful years. They were two parts of a whole and complemented each other's strengths. They were both born in the same year, passed away in the same year, and it is only fitting that they will be laid to rest together on the same day. Throughout his career, Ken worked in several capacities, including serving as a police officer for the Town of Mason, manager of the former Aubuchon Hardware in Townsend, and a specialty welder at the former Hume Pipe Company. In his later years, he was known throughout the town of Brookline as "the guy who pumps gas, at Corey's Mobile" Ken was a member of the Bethel-Souhegan Masonic Lodge in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, and attended Steeple Fellowship Church in Lancaster, Massachusetts. He had a deep passion for music and was dedicated to singing gospel songs in church. Ken's deep-seated Christian faith began more than 30 years ago and remained a guiding force throughout his life. Although he faced many health challenges, he always managed to push through and be the best he could be, refusing to let physical limitations define him. Ken enjoyed many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, and coin collecting. He also loved movies, enjoyed a good cup of coffee, and appreciated sharing a great meal with friends. He and his wife spent many evenings with friends, enjoying laughter and playing "Cahds" (cards). Together they enjoyed traveling and trying new experiences. They especially cherished their many trips to Gloucester, reminiscing about the summers they spent there during their childhoods. Ken was known for his storytelling, like any good Scotsman, and for the past 30-plus years looked forward to celebrating at the annual New Hampshire Highland Games. His loving wife, Judith A. (Koch) Tibbetts of Mason, New Hampshire, passed away on March 6, 2026. He leaves his son, Scott Tibbetts of Mason, New Hampshire; three daughters, Kelli Fitzgerald of Pepperell, Massachusetts, and Kristen Tibbetts and Kourtney Tibbetts, both of Mason, New Hampshire; his brothers, Ralph F. Tibbetts Jr. of Rindge, New Hampshire, Douglas F. Tibbetts of Victoria, Texas, and R. Jim Tibbetts and his wife, Cindy, of Milford, New Hampshire; his sister, Jean M. Bayrd of Old Town, Florida; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two bonus grandsons, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Shannon S. Tibbetts, and his son-in-law, Mark Fitzgerald. His funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Steeple Fellowship Church, 793 Main Street, Lancaster, Massachusetts. A Masonic service will be performed graveside at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Mason, New Hampshire, on Sunday, July 12, at 5:30 p.m., after which Ken and Judy will be laid to rest together. All are welcome to attend. The T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, Townsend, Massachusetts, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
