Frank J. Catalfamo

FITCHBURG- Frank J. Catalfamo, 74, and a lifetime resident of Fitchburg, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, December 30, 2022. Born on January 4, 1948, Frank was born to the late Ratio and Mary (Penzabene) Catalfamo. He graduated from St. Bernard’s High School and later received his associates in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning at Northeastern Technical. He worked as an HVAC mechanic for Fitchburg Heating and AC and finished his career with Huhtala Oil & Propane in Templeton. Frank had a strong love for both God and his family. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Padua Church in Fitchburg for 8 years, and a devoted husband, father, and proud “Papa” to his grandchildren to whom he was their number one fan. He was very passionate about sports, and for many years, coached street hockey in Fitchburg. He never missed a sports game of his children or his grandchildren’s ice hockey, volley ball or soccer games. In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman who spent many summers fishing, cooking, and tending to his vegetable garden. A humble and gentle man, Frank will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, and his warm and loving personality. Frank is lovingly survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathryn M. (Tomaselli) Catalfamo; his sons, Brian Catalfamo and his wife Anne of Ashburnham, and Andrew Catalfamo and his wife Melissa of Rutland; cherished “Papa” to Ariana, Joseph, Connor, Cohan and Siena. He is also survived by his brother Anthony Catalfamo and his wife Joan of Fitchburg, many nieces, nephews and 12 godchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling Hours will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 in Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg. Burial to follow with Committal Prayers in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Pieta Chapel, 474 Clarendon St., Fitchburg.
