LUNENBURG – Diane E. (Jenkins) Crusco, 75 Diane E. (Jenkins) Crusco, 75, of Lunenburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cambridge on April 13, 1951, Diane was the daughter of the late Russell and Beatrice (Niven) Jenkins. She grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School with the Class of 1969. Following high school, Diane proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she served her country during the Vietnam War Era. Diane enjoyed a successful career in the technology industry, retiring after many years with IBM. She was an exceptional seamstress and a longtime member of the Lunenburg and Leominster quilt guilds. Whether she was quilting, crocheting, sewing, or making jewelry, Diane found joy in creating beautiful things by hand. Her talent was matched only by her generosity—she lovingly made quilts, clothing, Halloween costumes, princess dresses, school projects, purses, sweaters, and countless handmade gifts for family and friends. Her creations became treasured keepsakes that will continue to wrap those she loved in her warmth for years to come. Diane was also a dedicated volunteer with NEADS (National Education for Assistance Dog Services), a nonprofit organization that trains and places service dogs with people who are deaf or disabled, as well as with veterans. She shared her compassion through this work, supporting both the mission and the people and animals it serves Above all, Diane cherished time spent with her family, her many friends, and her beloved dogs. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, quiet generosity, and the love she stitched into everything she made. Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, David J. Crusco of Lunenburg; her son, Jeremy Crusco and his wife, Kysa, of Manchester, New Hampshire; her daughter, Amanda Crusco and her husband, Tarek, of Lunenburg; her brothers, Dana Jenkins of Coral Springs, Florida, and Russell Jenkins of Clearwater, Florida; her two cherished grandchildren, Reagan and Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Diane's life on Thursday, August 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, Ayer. Military honors will be rendered at 4:00 p.m., followed by a time of remembrance beginning at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NEADS service dogs.
