Catherine Mary 'Cathy' (Caissie) Doucette

FITCHBURG - Catherine Mary ‘Cathy’ (Caissie) Doucette, 82 of Fitchburg, passed away at The Highlands in Fitchburg on Monday, May 10, 2021. Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada on September 14, 1938, Cathy was the daughter to the late Eddie and Lucy (Nicholson) Caissie. She loved God and devoted three years of her youth as a Trappistine nun in Canada. Cathy was devoted to her family. She loved spending every day with her husband of 64 wonderful years Alyre. Together, they shared a love for traveling to their homes in Canada and Florida to visit relatives and friends. Cathy cherished and loved every person that she knew; when she had a friend, she had a friend for life. Cathy is lovingly survived by her husband of 64 years, Alyre J. Doucette; her daughters, Dianne (Doucette) Boudreau, and her husband Brian of Gardner, and Claudette (Doucette) Chartier, and her husband Richard of Baldwinville; her sons, Ronald J. Doucette of Fitchburg, and Donald A. Doucette of Gardner; her sister, Anna (Doison) Caissie; her grandchildren, Catherine M. Jeremie, Raymond Blackington, and his wife Keisha, David Doucette, Shawn Boudreau, and his wife Marissa (Roundtree), and Michelle (Boudreau) Baranowski, and her husband Tyler; her great-grandchildren, Krista Boudreau, Alex Jeremie, Mason Boudreau, Gabriella Boudreau, Collin Boudreau, Gavin Boudreau, Nora Boudreau, Logan Baranowski, Emma Blackington, Cencier Blackington, Ceraya Blackington, Raelynn Blackington, Molly Blackington. In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by her son, Daniel J. Doucette, and his surviving wife Lorraine (Blackington) Harris; her siblings, Marie Caissie, Calixte Caissie, Edmond Caissie, Abel Caissie, Fred Caissie, Mederic Caissie, Eugene Caissie, Anna (Dawson) O’Donnell, Mary (Dawson) Watt, Ephiam Dawson, Lymad Dawson, and William ‘Billy’ Dawson. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM. A Visitation will be held at Isabelle and Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cathy’s memory to the Alzeihmer’s Association at www.alz.org.
