Stephen P. Russell

GREENVILLE, NH – Stephen P. Russell, 70, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023 at the Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough, NH after a lengthy illness. Stephen was born in Leominster, MA on December 13, 1952, a son of the late Walter E. and Grace (Powers) Russell. Stephen began his 30 year career in landscaping in 1983, working for the Lawn and Garden Landscaping Company in Pepperell. He immersed himself in the business and dedicated much time to specialized training and attending horticultural school. Always a hard worker, Stephen eventually became the foreman of the company. He held various licenses, including his CDL; he was also a heavy equipment operator, allowing him to perform all aspects of his job. Stephen was extremely handy, he was able to build and repair just about anything. Whether adding on to his home, building sheds, working out in the yard, or washing his car, he loved staying busy. He enjoyed old cars and going to the local car shows. He was very proud of his yellow convertible Mercury Comet. Stephen will be fondly remembered for his “Russell” sense of humor, always making those around him laugh. He was rarely seen without his signature large iced coffee, his fuel for the day. He loved his ice cream and was a huge Pats fan. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carol (Stuart) Russell of Greenville, NH; children, Stephen W. Russell and wife Tiffany of New Bloomfield, PA, Jonathan P. Russell and wife Nicole of Greenville, NH, Sabrina M. Ebika and husband Curtis of Shirley, MA; he was a beloved “GaGa” to his seven grandsons, Nicholas, Dekae, Grant, Stephen “Matty”, Landon, Oliver, and Harrison, and one granddaughter on the way; brother, Wayne Russell of Greenville, NH; half brother David Kemp of CA; brother-in-law, Gerald Stuart of Lowell; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clayton and Jacqueline Stuart. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend Center, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
