Robert F. Sargent Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lancaster – Robert F. Sargent, 76, of Lancaster, died January 18, 2022, in the Sterling Village Healthcare Center in Sterling. Robert was born in Winchendon, MA, on May 20, 1945, the son of Walter C. Sargent and Elizabeth R. (King) Sargent Pederson. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1965. Many years ago he worked for the Department of Corrections and was retired from the Weetabix Company Inc. in Clinton. Robert was also a well know bartender throughout the area. He was a gentle soul who was always giving of his time to family and friends. Robert was an avid golfer and enjoyed player cards and games. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. He leaves his wife, Andrea (Horne) Sargent of Lancaster, a brother-in-law, Frederick “Ted” May of Townsend; a niece, Christine Macchia and her husband David of Westminster, step-children, Stephen Messier and Matthew Messier both of Lancaster and Ellen Messier of Athol; step-grandchildren, Collin Messier and Owen Messier and great-nephews and nieces, Michaela Macchia, Gillian Macchia, Jenna May, Paden May and Drew May. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth E. (Sargent) May of Townsend and nephew, Jeffrey May, of Lunenburg. Graveside service with full military honors will be held privately in the spring at the Hillside Cemetery.
