FITCHBURG: Ovila “Tash” LeBlanc, 88, a lifelong resident of Fitchburg, died May 23,2021. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Denise (Dufour) LeBlanc who died in 2013. He was born in Fitchburg, September 18, 1932, a son of the late Arthur LeBlanc and Marie (Arsenault) LeBlanc. He worked at Fitchburg Paper and the subsequent companies at that location from 1950-1998, a great deal of that time in the capacity of Maintenance Superintendent. Following his retirement from Fitchburg Paper, he worked summers at Dufour’s RV Center, Fitchburg. Tash and Denise enjoyed a long retirement during the winter in Florida. Tash loved to socialize with family and friends at parties and events and it gave him great joy throughout his life. He was an avid Boston sports fan and played golf regularly. In his early years, he was active in St. Joseph Parish as an altar boy and a snare drummer in the drum and bugle corps. He is survived by his son and daughter in law Mark and Cindy LeBlanc of Pelham, NH; his daughter and son in law Diane and David Thibodeau of Fitchburg; his sisters Dorine Waskewicz and Eva Desjardins both of Fitchburg, as well as his four grandchildren Steven and his wife Cheryl LeBlanc, Ross LeBlanc and Crixie Anni, Jill and Scott Chester and Sara & Craig Lashua; seven great grandchildren, Drew Boutell, Masyn Chester, Camden, Pressley, & Cole Lashua, and Emily & Zachary LeBlanc. He was the brother of the late Laurie LeBlanc, Zoel LeBlanc, Arline Russo, Henry LeBlanc, Clarence LeBlanc, Leon LeBlanc, Arthur (Bullet) LeBlanc, Jeannette “Jenny” Caron, Marguerite “Margie” Richardson and Priscilla “Peanut” Williams. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, June 3, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Tash’s family will receive family and friends on Thursday, June 3rd from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg.
