Nancy B. (Phelps) Davan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

AYER: Nancy B. (Phelps) Davan, 84, a longtime Ayer resident died Friday evening, May 27, 2022 at Apple Valley Center, Ayer. Born in Worcester and raised in Worcester, October 5, 1937, Nancy was the daughter of the late Walter and Marjorie (Ward) Phelps. Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Worcester Trade with a certificate in hairdressing; a talent she continued until 2017. Nancy loved making craft items to sell in holiday fairs every year; a specialty was making fleece blankets of all sports teams. Nancy enjoyed camping, and belonged to the Nashoba Apple Corp camping group where she was a secretary for over 40 years. She traveled every year all over the state with the group and participated in many state conventions. Nancy loved having family and friends at her & Donald’s Onset, MA vacation home for the past 40 years many wonderful memories were made there with their children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. For forty six years, Nancy drove a school bus in the Ayer School District retiring in 2017. In addition, she was a former member of the Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Worcester. She leaves three sons, Kenneth C. Davan (Marrianne) of Fitchburg, Ronald W. Davan (Sue) of Templeton, Michael R. Davan (Holly) of Shirley; two daughters, Bonnie J. Holleran of Fitchburg, Brenda M. Smith (Gary) of Westminster, 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, along with one new great grandchild expected in October. She was predeceased by her husband Donald K. Davan in 2002, her daughter, Marjorie L. Davan in March of this year and her brother Charles Phelps. The Family would like to thank the Apple Valley Center and Hospice team and all the aids for the loving and compassionate care they provided for the past two years for Nancy. Nancy’s family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd, (Rte. 2A) Ayer.
