FITCHBURG - Margaret ‘Peg’ Bray, 70 of Fitchburg, passed away surrounded by her family early Monday morning, February 28, 2022 after a courageous battle with autoimmune diseases. A lifelong resident of Fitchburg, Peg was born on October 22, 1951 to the late George and Rita (Dupuis) McPhee. All throughout her life, Peg was a woman of courage, grit and determination. For 35 years, she worked for Simon’s International as a Payroll Coordinator while in the last decade, was a volunteer for the Greater Gardner Relay for Life. Though she was dedicated to her work, she was more devoted to her entire family. Along with her cherished husband Michael whom she married in 1973, she enjoyed spending time with her son and her grandchildren and traveling all over the world. In addition to her parents, Peg was predeceased by her siblings, Paul McPhee, Pauline Emerson, and Claire Valois. Peg is lovingly survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael Scott Bray; her son, Scott Michael Bray; her sisters, Catherine St. Armand, Irene Rantakyto, and Denise Albanese; grandchildren, Zachary Luzier and Andrew Bray. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in St. Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the Mass at 10:30.
