    Kevin M. O'Hara

    October 14, 1946 - March 7, 2021

LUNENBURG: Kevin M. O’Hara, 74, of Lunenburg, died peacefully on March 7, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Ellen (Coakley) O’Hara; his children, Michael K. O’Hara and his wife Theresa (Cooney) of Hull and Caitlin C. O’Hara and her husband Stefan Rosellini of Maynard; his beloved grandsons, Jack and Cormac O’Hara and Julian Rosellini; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara and Kathleen Coakley of Belmont. Kevin was born on October 14, 1946 in New York City and was the only child of John E. O’Hara and Alice (Queeney) O’Hara. As a child in a military family he lived in Germany and various parts of the United States before his family settled in Canton, where he graduated high school in 1965. In 1968 he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant until 1972. He completed two tours in Vietnam and received the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. After his time in the service he attended Merrimack College where he met his wife Mary Ellen. He graduated in 1975 and worked for many years as a consultant in the software manufacturing industry. Kevin loved nothing more than spending time with his family, enjoying meals and laughter. He was always excited for the holidays where he had opportunities to gather and share time with those he loved. He had a passion for travel and did so extensively throughout his life. He relished sharing stories about his trips and experiences and prided himself in being a go-to travel expert. He enjoyed science fiction television shows and movies, especially Star Wars and Star Trek. On Sundays he was devoted to watching the Patriots as he was their number one fan. Vacations were a favorite of Kevin’s. He would often take pictures and videos with the newest gadget he purchased specifically for that trip. Kevin will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his eternal optimism, and his love and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 12 at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453. Interment will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice. The Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road (Rte 2A) Ayer is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
