    Kathleen M. (Griffin) Eldredge

    April 25, 1938 - February 19, 2022

    AYER: Kathleen M. (Griffin) Eldredge, 83, of Ayer died Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer. Kathy was born in Clinton, April 25, 1938, the daughter of Donald R. and Ruth (McAlpine) Griffin Sr. and resided much of her life in Ayer. Kathy graduated from Ayer High School, class of 1956, and continued her education at Framingham State College and Alabama A&M. Kathy and Bob were married in July 1961. As a result of Bob’s military career they resided in many locales including, Maryland, Puerto Rico, Alabama and Germany. For twenty five years Kathy taught elementary education at the Pond School, Fort Devens Elementary School and the Page Hilltop School in Ayer, retiring in 1999. She was attended St. Mary’s Church in Ayer and St. Anthony’s Church in Shirley and had served as a teacher in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program in both churches. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and enjoyed the time she spent in her Bridge and Book Clubs. Kathy had also volunteered her time in the Medical Records Department at Nashoba Community Hospital and to the Ayer Meals on Wheels program. Kathy and Bob enjoyed the time they spent at their summer home on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She leaves her husband of 61 years, Robert E. Eldredge; her son and daughter in law, Michael and Wendy Eldredge of Bolton; her daughter, Maureen Eldredge and her husband, Miles Brooks of Boulder, Colorado; her daughter in law, Ginette Eldredge of Alexandra, VA; four grandchildren, Mateo Brooks, Tean Brooks, Sarah Eldredge and Molly Sinkewicz. Her son, Daniel Eldredge, (Captain, USN) of Alexandria, VA died in July 2020 and her brother, Donald R. Griffin Jr. of Ayer died in 1983. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ayer will be held privately. Calling hours will be 4-7PM Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer.
