John J. Martin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

TOWNSEND: John J. Martin, 71, a resident of Townsend for over fifty years, formerly of Hudson, NH and Avon, died Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Martin was born in Brockton, November 5, 1950, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Spadea) Martin and grew up in Avon. He was a 1968 graduate of Avon High School and continued his education at the University of Lowell and Northeastern University where he majored in Engineering and Computer Science. During the Vietnam era, Mr. Martin served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He enjoyed fly fishing and operated his ham radio under the name “WA1ETC” He worked as a Design and Electronic Engineer for several firms including Proteon in Marlboro, BAE in Hudson, NH, Avia Corporation in Billerica and Merrimack Computer Company in Chelmsford. Following his retirement he delivered medications for McNabb Pharmacy in Townsend. He leaves his wife of fifty years, Frances L. (Friedmann) Martin; his son and daughter in law, Justin J. and Lisa Martin of Nashua, NH; two sisters, Maureen Kurtz of Fargo, ND, Kathy Brown of Stoughton, one grandchild, Joseph, as well as his extended family on Frances’ side. Mr. Martin’s family will receive family and friends at a visitation period 10 Am Wednesday, June 15th the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main the Street, (Rte 119) Townsend Center with a service starting at 11 AM .
