John C. Araujo Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

TOWNSEND: John C. Araujo, 95, of Townsend, MA, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Monday, August 3, 2020. He was born in Plymouth, MA on March 30, 1925, son of the late Sabino and Lettie (Richardson) Araujo and was a longtime resident of Townsend. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. His wife of 63 years, Frances E. (Leahy) Araujo passed away in 2011, John is survived by his children, Linda Salisbury and her husband Peter of Townsend, Sue Lattanzio and her husband David of Leominster, Kathy White and her husband Doug of Plymouth, James Araujo and his late wife Kathleen of Townsend, and John Araujo and his wife Sharon of Townsend. He leaves 15 grandchildren Melissa, Michelle, Jon, Joel, Jamie, Julie, Jason, Justin, Shawna, Jessica, Ashley, Heather, Dillon, Ian, Shayne and 28 great grandchildren. He worked as a machinist for Lakso Company in Leominster for many years. He owned and operated Johnny’s Jenny Station on Main Street in Townsend. John loved sports, especially baseball and the Boston Red Sox. He was a volunteer coach for the Townsend Little League and also enjoyed jogging, sitting in the sun and woodworking. He was always there to help family and friends by working on their cars, doing repairs to their home and also built many houses. A special thank you to his daughter Sue for her loving care and support during his final days. Funeral and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nashoba Nursing Service & Hospice. “We all live on borrowed time. People come and go so unexpectedly, we sometimes forget that nothing really lasts as long as we hoped it would. Surely, losing someone dear to us can be a heartbreaking experience, but it’s something we need to accept in order to continue on with our lives." The T.J.
