Jocelyn L. (Savin) MacLeod Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

GROTON: Jocelyn L. (Savin) MacLeod, 86, of Groton, a former longtime resident of Ayer, died Wednesday evening, February 17, 2021 at Life Care of Nashoba Valley, Littleton. Her husband of 57 years, Murdo S. MacLeod died April 9, 2017. Mrs. MacLeod was born in Ayer, April 22, 1934, a daughter of Leo and Dorothea (Whittier) Savin and was a 1952 graduate of Groton High School. For 15 years Mrs. MacLeod worked as a claims processor at Sentury Insurance in Concord. Many years ago she worked as a telephone operator at New England Telephone Company in Ayer and Boston. Jocelyn enjoyed needle-point, crocheting, camping at York Beach, Maine and cheering the Boston Celtics to victory. Jocelyn had a compassionate heart for animals and raised her dogs, Nivas and Penny and her cats, Beau and Belle. She attended St. Mary’s Church in Ayer. She leaves her daughter and son in law, Tobe A. and John Conway of Groton and nieces and nephews throughout New England. She was the sister of the late Joanne Hooker of Houston, TX. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ayer. Jocelyn’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff at Life Care of Nashoba Valley and Compassionate Care Hospice for their kindness and loving care provided to her.
