FITCHBURG: Joan J. (Gelinas) Joachim, 83, formerly of Fitchburg and Lake Alfred, Florida died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at The Peabody Home, Franklin, NH. Mrs. Joachim was born in Fitchburg, a daughter of Edmond A. and Dorilda (McCoy) Gelinas and grew up in Fitchburg. She attended the Fitchburg School System and St. Joseph’s Church when she resided in this area. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time at her home in warm Florida. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She leaves two sons, Christopher P. Joachim and his wife, Sonia of Peabody, Michael J. Joachim of Goffstown, NH; her daughter, Becky L. Joachim of Franklin, NH; two brothers, Edmond P. Gelinas of Fitchburg, Robert L. Gelinas of Winter Haven, Florida; two sisters, Janet Slome of Lunenburg, Linda Hayward of Maynard; four grandchildren, Dylan Robert, Alanna Joachim, James Joachim, Erica Lindberg; three great grandchildren, Charlie Lindberg, Brantley Lindberg and Kasey Lindberg. Mrs. Joachim’s funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
