AYER: Jeannette A. (Jalbert) Gobeille, 94, of Ayer, formerly of Chelmsford and Woonsocket, RI, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Louis Gobeille, who passed in 2018. Jeannette and Louis shared a one-of-a-kind love and respect for one another. After many years of being just the two of them, they eventually welcomed their one and only daughter, Darlene, whom they adored their entire lives. Mrs. Gobeille leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene M. and Ernest J. Johnson with whom she resided in Ayer; four grandchildren, Michelle Higginbottom, Karen Johnson, Jennifer Beauregard, Timothy Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren, Jesse, Chase, Brianna, Jordyn, Calvin, Jocelyn, Dylan, Laela, Kaiden, Ty, Shylah, Yasmine and one great-great-grandchild, Emmelia. She was the sister of the late Muriel Boucher and Pauline Morin both of Rhode Island. Mrs. Gobeille was born in Woonsocket, RI, May 13, 1927, a daughter of Leo and Ernestine (Landry) Jalbert and resided many years in Chelmsford before moving to Ayer in 1999. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Ayer. She had worked several years at the BASF Corporation in Burlington. Prior to that she worked many years as a stitcher in the clothing industry in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and Lowell, MA. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and working with ceramics. "Memere Jean" always had a bowl of chocolates on the table that she was willing to share telling people to grab a bag and take some home. She loved her family and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending summers with her family at Ossipee and Winnisquam lakes. She would often say how lucky she was to have such a wonderful family. We felt that we were the lucky ones! She was sweet, kind, and loving. Her unconditional love will be cherished in our hearts and the wonderful memories we had with her will always be remembered. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley.
