Eugene C. Wixom Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

SHIRLEY: Eugene C. Wixom, 83, of Shirley, died Sunday, April 17, 2022 at his home. Mr. Wixom was born in Danbury, Connecticut, June 19, 1938 a son of Clayton and Marie (Nowakunski) Wixom and resided much of his life in Shirley and was a graduate of Leominster Trade High School. For over 30 years Mr. Wixom worked as an inspector at the Fort Devens National Guard, retiring in 1993. Additionally, he served his country for over 30 years in the Massachusetts National Guard retiring in 1998 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Sandra A. (Gilmartin) Wixom; a daughter and son in law, Susan J. Reynolds and her husband, Tom of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Tyler Wixom, Alyssa Reynolds, Kevin Wixom, Steven Reynolds and a great grandchild, Michael Reynolds; his brother and sister in law, Victor and Lyn Wixom of Florida. In 2012, he was predeceased by his son, James M. Wixom of Littleton. Mr. Wixom was an active member of the Caleb Butler Lodge of Masons in Ayer. He was a member of the Shirley Gun & Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed hunting and traveling. He had been active in the Shirley Boy Scout and Little League Programs. He was a member of the St. Anthony’s Church in Shirley. Mr. Wixom’s family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours from 4-7 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Caleb Butler Masonic Lodge, 11 Sculley Road, Ayer. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Church, 14, Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial will be held privately.
