David W. Kymalainen

FITCHBURG – David W. Kymalainen, age 54 of Fitchburg, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, May 2, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Leominster on March 22, 1968, David lived locally most of his life. A man who lived life to the fullest, David lived by his own terms while having a great and realistic attitude about life. Dave was quite the charmer; he had the ability to find humor in any given situation. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed NASCAR and the Patriots. He played for Fitchburg High School football and was a talented saxophone player in his youth. David was the son to the late Bill (William) Kymalainen and his beloved surviving mother Evelyn C. (Boudreau) Coleman, of Fitchburg; his significant other of over 20 years, Shay Grout, and her three children, Harvey, Shauntay and Iesha, all of Fitchburg; his brother, John Kymalainen, and his wife Penney of Ashburnham; his sister, Cheryl (Kymalainen) Koula, and her fiancé Michael Gagne of Ashburnham; also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews, who he absolutely adored. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Isabelle and Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM in the funeral home on Monday. Prayers of Committal will be held in the St. Joseph Cemetery Pieta Chapel, 474 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 12 PM.
