Annemarie “Annie” (Powers) Boyden

GROTON: Annemarie "Annie" (Powers) Boyden, 79, of Groton, formerly of Boston and Watertown, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021. Born in Brattleboro, VT on September 12, 1942, Annemarie was the oldest of four siblings, born to the late Erwin Stratton and Elizabeth (Stevens) Powers. After high school, she graduated from Cooley Dickenson Nursing School in 1963; starting her 40-year career as a registered nurse. Later, Annie married the love of her life, Thomas Boyden in 1968. They resided in Watertown for 50 years before moving to Boston. A vibrant, eternal optimist who was filled with positivity, Annie could light up any room. She was a happy-go-lucky person who made many people feel exceptional and happy. In addition to her parents, Annie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Charles Boyden. Annie is lovingly survived by her daughters, Deb Boyden, and her husband John Weber of Oakland, CA, Kimberly Anne Casto, and her husband Anthony of Shirley; her brothers, Dick Powers, and his wife Barbara of Auburn, ME, Bob and Donna Remy-Powers of Brattleboro, VT, Steve Powers, and his wife Jeannine of Fairbanks, Alaska; adoring Grandma Annie to Cole Boyden Casto, Anthony Luke Casto, Conner Weber and Riley Boyden Weber. She is also survived by her long-time cherished family friend, Mike “Spike” Francione. A Celebration of Annie’s Life will be held by her family at a later date.
