Mr. Deforge was born in Bitburg, Germany, January 10, 1955, a son of Claire P. (Twomey) Deforge and the late Alvah J. Deforge Jr. and resided much of his life in Ayer. He was a 1973 graduate of Ayer High School. He enjoyed walking and collecting sea glass on his favorite beach, Long Sands Beach in York, Maine. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately known as Biggy. Besides his wife of 37 years, Donna L. (Johnson) Deforge, he leaves his mother of Ayer; a son and daughter in law, Jonathan M. and Erin Deforge of Shirley; two brothers, Richard Deforge of Belfast, Maine, George Deforge of Hampden, Maine; three sisters, Patricia Deforge of Hubbardston, Elizabeth Deforge of Leominster, Denise Cannata of Wilmington and two grandchildren, Jonah Deforge and Finleigh Deforge. He was also survived by many dear relatives and friends, including his "Beach Friends" of York Beach, Maine. Before retiring last year, Mr. Deforge worked as a warehouse supervisor at K & W Tire Warehouse.
