Alfred E. DeLuca

HARVARD- Alfred E. DeLuca, 85, of Harvard, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Al was born in Boston on June 18, 1936, a son of the late Julio and Josephine (Luccini) DeLuca. He grew up in the Roslindale section of the City and graduated from Hyde Park High School. He later went on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1955 till his honorable discharge as an Airman 2nd Class in1958. Al was an electrical engineer and worked his entire career at Digital Corporation in Maynard prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish of Bolton and Harvard, he was a skilled woodworker and avid gardener. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Patricia A. (Price) DeLuca of Harvard, a son, Michael E. DeLuca and his wife Kim of Bolton; a daughter, Debra L. Nycz and her husband Martin of Leominster; a granddaughter, Heather Grossi and her husband Marc of Holden and his three childhood friends, Charlie Shields, Bobby Hebb and John Stazinski. He is predeceased by a brother, James DeLuca and a sister, Mary DeLuca. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9, 2021; at 10 AM in St. Theresa the Little Flower Church, 15 Still River Rd., Harvard. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd. (Rte.2A), Ayer. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital, 131 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, Concord, MA 01742.
