Sylvia M. (Bari) Cook

LUNENBURG – Sylvia M. (Bari) Cook, 84 of Lunenburg, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. Born in Cambridge on June 6, 1938, Sylvia was born to the late Cataldo “Charlie” and Yolanda “Viola” (Forte) Bari. She was married to her cherished husband of 43 years, Richard W. Cook. Together, they blended their families and made a home in Maynard where they resided for many years with their children; before moving to Colorado Springs, CO. Later, they became permanent residents of Lunenburg. An adventurous woman, Sylvia enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband, Richard. Together, they shared a love for motorcycle riding and cruising in their 1930 Model A Ford hotrod. She also loved the beach, and camping. In addition, Sylvia was an avid card player and enjoyed Yahtzee, along with many other board games. Sylvia will always be remembered for her vivaciousness, her beauty both inside and out, and her devotion to her family. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by her brother Ronald, sisters Evelyn and Diane, granddaughter, Melissa and sons in law Barry and Gregory. Sylvia is lovingly survived by her husband Richard W. Cook and sons, Stephen L. Beltzer and his wife Mynhung of St. Petersburg, FL; Michael A. Beltzer of Ashland; daughters, Deborah C. Smith of Leominster, and Karen L. Gallagher and her husband Andrew of Paxton; stepchildren, Mary K. Shanley and her husband Michael A. of Stow, Richard W. Cook, Jr. of Derry, NH, and Kevin J. Cook and his wife Monica L. of Leominster. She leaves a sister, Geri Keough and her husband Dave of Lexington. She was ‘Nana’ to grandchildren Michael, Jason (and his wife Katie), Lindsay (and her fiancé Dylan), Rainy, Brandon, Kyle, Ryan, Emma, Samantha, Evan, Gemma and Mia. Great-Nana to Anthony, Arabella, Imani, Saffron and Jason, Jr. Sylvia’s Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, Ayer. Visiting Hours will be on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 4-7 PM in the Funeral Home. Burial at South Cemetery, Lunenburg.
