Marie E. (Paul) Nader, 82, of Shirley

SHIRLEY: Marie Else Nader, 82, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 30, 2025. Marie is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Nader; her brothers, Bill Paul (the late Jean Paul) and Robert Paul; her children, Eric Johnson (Martha), Melissa Watson (Richard), and Leslie Fairweather (Dana); and her stepchildren, Jonathan Nader (Kathy), Mark Nader (Karen), Paul Nader (Sharon), and Phil Nader (Kathy). She was a cherished grandmother to Daniel Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Christian Watson, Lily Watson, and Sophie Watson, and a loving step-grandmother to Jon Nader, Jr., Jennifer Hochard, Theresa Nader, Tiffany Nader, Erica Nader, Scott Nader, and Elizabeth Kimmel. Marie is also survived by many dear nieces and godchildren. Marie grew up in West Newton, MA, and graduated from Bridgewater State College with a teaching degree. She enjoyed a wonderful career nurturing countless children in Washington, DC, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. She began her family in Bloomfield, NJ, and moved to Littleton in the early 1970s, where she devoted herself to raising her children, Eric, Melissa, and Leslie. Marie taught religious education, loved to entertain, and was always volunteering, especially for children’s causes. Marie met her true love, Michael Nader, and they married on January 16, 1988. Their union was later blessed in the Catholic Church, bringing Marie the joy of four stepsons. Together, she and Michael settled in Shirley, where they shared a life filled with faith and family. In retirement, Marie’s greatest joy was cheering on her grandchildren at their baseball, lacrosse, field hockey, and basketball games, always finding time for ice cream and laughter. She served as the Boston Chapter lead for ConKerr Cancer for many years, sewing thousands of pillowcases for children and families battling cancer. She loved sitting with the kids, sewing together, and seeing their smiles. Marie was defined by her generosity and compassion, always giving to and caring for others. She also donated nearly 200 units of blood platelets to Dana-Farber patients over the years. Marie and Michael established a scholarship fund through the Knights of Columbus to help children of Catholic faith further their education, specifically those interested in trade school.
