Levina (Cormier) Robideau

Levina died peacefully at her home on July 18, 2026 and entered heaven to be reunited with her beloved sons. Levina was born on September 12, 1930 in Fitchburg, MA to Gerard and Anna Cormier. She was the 8th of 9 children, but the only one to survive past childhood. Levina grew up in Cleghorn as part of St. Joseph's parish. She attended St. Joseph's elementary school. She was proud to later earn her GED while working and raising her children. Levina married Robert Robideau on November 12, 1949. Robert and Levina embarked on a journey that resulted in 7 children and a home filled with love. They lived on Cross St. as part of the Immaculate Conception parish, then on Shea St. as part of the St. Joseph's parish. She worked different jobs to help support her large brood including Cluett, Peabody and Company. Later in life, she worked as a teller at Worker's Credit Union. Levina entered a new phase of her life in 1993 when she married Lionel Arsenault. They lived in Fitchburg and Leominster as they watched the family continue to expand. After Lionel’s passing in 2012, Levina lived with her daughter Karen in Fitchburg. In 2018, Levina moved to Bellingham, MA to live with her son Brian, where she remained until her last day. Levina was a talented singer and guitarist and entertained people in the Fitchburg area in her youth. She continued to sing with local churches and prayer groups. Levina was a person of deep faith who read the Bible and inspirational passages every day. Levina was a hopeless romantic, voraciously consuming romance novels and Hallmark movies. She loved chocolate and looked forward to the regular gifts of chocolate treats from her loved ones. She looked forward to visits from her children which usually led to trips to her favorite restaurant, Outback Steakhouse, where her favorite servers would go out of their way to greet her even if they didn’t have her table. She loved to watch Patriots games even if she never completely understood the rules. Levina was the dominant matriarch of a large family and would regale them all with her tales (which seemed to get grander as time went along) and opinions at every opportunity. We will all miss her stories and will continue retelling many of them. Her presence will be felt for a very long time. Levina was predeceased by her precious sons, Nelson Robideau (2022) and Robert Robideau, Jr (2023). She was also predeceased by her husbands Robert Robideau (2001) and Lionel Arsenault (2012). She is survived by her daughter Deborah Miller and her husband David of St. Johnsbury, VT, Daughter Kathleen Jones and her husband Wayne of Athol, MA, Daughter Brenda Bressard and her husband Len of Fitchburg, MA, Son Brian Robideau and his wife Lisa of Bellingham, MA, Daughter Karen Hall and her husband Ray of Fitchburg, MA, Daughter-in-law Gina Bulu-Robideau of Duxbury, MA, Daughter-in-law Georgia Robideau of Leominster, MA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The family will have a private service at St Joseph's cemetery at a later date.
