FITCHBURG: John N. Raymond, 91, formerly of Fitchburg died Monday, June 27th, 2022 at the Palm’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Port St. Lucie, Florida. John was born in Worcester on December 25, 1930, to his parents Lionel and Marie (Basque) Raymond, and lived most of his life in Fitchburg until moving to Fort Pierce, Florida. John met and started dating his wife Alice (LeBlanc) when he was in the seventh grade. They were married in 1950 for sixty-six years until Alice passed in 2016. John worked in construction for 50 years and was a former owner of Fairway Construction. John was also a realtor when he was younger. John loved golfing and traveling with his wife and friends. He was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church and Oak Hill Country Club. While residing in Ft. Pierce he attended St. Mark the Evangelist Parish. He was active in the High Points Community Association and was a member of the Tuesday Bowling League. He is survived by four sons, John L. Raymond, Leonard Raymond & his wife, Caroline, of Fitchburg, and Lionel and Randal Raymond of Leominster; his daughter Cathy Martin and her husband, Daniel, of Fitchburg. He also leaves his grandchildren, Rachel, Lee Michael and Jaclyn (Raymond) Mertz, Dr. Kaitlyn (Martin) Boucher and her husband Brian, Ryan Martin and fiancée, Allison Andrews and Christopher, and Brittany Raymond. He also leaves three great-granddaughters, Myla and Alayna Conlin, and Aria Mertz. Along with great-grandson Colton Boucher. He is survived by his sister Theresa (Bujold) Quinn and her husband, Thomas of Florida as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, parents and brothers Roland and Leo Raymond. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St. Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. John's family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation period 9:00 -10:30 AM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg.
