Jodi A. McRell

Jodi (DiGeronimo) McRell of Ayer, MA passed away July 15, 2023 at home, peacefully with her husband by her side after an extended illness. Born January 10, 1955 in Fitchburg, MA to Joseph & Marguerite (Page) DiGeronimo, Jodi lived most of her younger years in Leominster, graduating from Leominster High School and Mount Wachusett Community College. She spent many years cooking for caterers in Leominster and then joined the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2017. She is survived by her sweetheart & husband, Michael E. McRell, her beloved children, Joseph & fiancée Maria, Jessica Flamino & fiancé Allen, Patrick & fiancée Sara and Christopher & his wife Carissa, adored grandchildren, Julianna, Michael and newborn Delainey, brothers Leon & wife Carol, Larry & wife Robyn and Chris, sisters Joyce Hardell & husband Scott and Janice Paquette, sister-in-law Kathy Janda & husband Brian and sister-in-law Carol McRell, as well as her Auntie Emma Gardner, along with many nephews, nieces and cousins. Jodi was predeceased by her father Joseph, mother Marguerite (Peg), brothers Vincent (Jimmy), Thomas, Paul, Donald and Louis, and her sister Lisa Carter. Jodi was most happy spending time with Mike, the love of her life, and their children and families. She found great joy in her grandchildren and loved being with them whenever possible. She was a great cook and loved feeding and caring for us all, hosting pool parties and family holidays. Jodi had a great sense of humor and fun and liked to laugh whenever possible. She loved playing card games, but hated losing. Many summers were spent camping with family, at the beach sunning and jumping in the waves, or floating in the pool. Family vacations in tropical locations during winter were high on her list of fun. Her unending care and love for everyone in her large family and those friends she considered family, will be sadly and deeply missed. Calling hours will be held in the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., (Rt. 2A) Ayer, MA 01432, on Wednesday, July 19, from 4:00-6:30pm. Words of Remembrance will be held at 6:30pm.
