George J. Laurin

TOWNSEND- George Joseph Laurin, 57, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill MA. George grew up in Lowell and worked at Prelco Corp as a machine operator. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Forrest Laurin. At the age of 28 he met his best friend Cindy and fell in love. They married on December 17, 1995 and lived in Townsend. He is also survived by his three brothers, Raymond Laurin and wife Donna of Dracut, Gary Laurin of Pelham and Robert Laurin of Lowell; a sister June Pimentel and husband Christopher of Pelham; in-laws, Daniel and Helen Forrest of Angier North Carolina; sister-in-law, Cheryl Dubois and her husband Rock; brother-in-law, John Forrest and wife Monika, sister-in-law, Paula Nash and her husband Dave and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Margaret Laurin of Lowell, a sister Margaret Laurin and a sister-in-law Dorothy Ravellette. George enjoyed the simple things in life, sitting on his back porch watching the animals and playing with his cat Ginger. He loved fishing and was an avid hunter when he was younger. George was also a family man, loving husband, strong son, awesome brother and a special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Being a family man, George took pride in taking care of family. He was always there if you needed him. He was a positive role model for his nieces and nephews growing up. He showed them how to drive, how to fish and how to be fearless. He also taught the kids life lessons by coaching and steering them along the way. I love hearing the stories from the kids about Uncle George…we are all lucky to have had him in our lives. Those that knew George knew he was private man. A graveside service will be held for close friends and immediate family at the Hillside Cemetery in Townsend on Friday September 21, 2018 at 11:00am.
