Edna Ernestine "Tina" Forest

AYER – Edna Ernestine "Tina" (Kidder) Forest passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at the Apple Valley Center Nursing Home. Tina was born in Ayer on June 27, 1931 to her parents Orin & Edna (Chaffin) Kidder, and lived most of her life in Ayer. Tina is survived by her husband of 72 years, J. Walter Forest; her daughter Jo-Anne (Forest) Poirier and her husband Claude of Shirley; son Bryan and wife Patricia of Ayer; son Brandon and wife Debra of Shirley; son Bradley and wife Judith of Rutland, and son Brett of Ayer; grandchildren: Nicholas and wife Alexis of Ayer, Daniel Forest and partner Tricia Oliveria of Marlborough, Stephanie Forest and fiancé Jeager Wells of Dallas, TX, Lauren LaCivita and husband Patrick of Reading, Shannon Forest of Los Angeles, CA, Adam Forest and Grace Forest of Shirley, Matthew Forest and Julia Forest of Rutland, Dr. Marc Poirier and wife Erin of Pooler, GA; great-grandchildren: Otto, Tucker, and Reagan. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Tina started her career in the office of Chandler Machine in Ayer. After the children were in school Tina worked part time as a bookkeeper for George Newell Excavation Co., and later worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the Ayer public school system. She worked for the Superintendent of Schools as well as Pond Street, Pleasant Street and Fort Devens Elementary Schools, retiring in 1991. After retiring Tina and Walter enjoyed traveling, taking many trips to Hawaii, England, Paris, Florida, and cruising to Bermuda with the “Kidder Clan.” Tina loved spending time with her family. She was a talented knitter, creating hundreds of pairs of mittens, scarfs, baby sweaters, and her special kitchen towels for family and friends, and donating many of these handmade items to the St. Mary’s Lawn Party. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and cheering on her favorite player, Dustin Pedroia. Visiting the casino with Walter was also one of her favorite activities. She loved to cuddle with her beloved cat, KC. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the North 2 nurses and aides, and all the staff at Apple Valley Center in Ayer. Tina was predeceased by her brother Hartwell Kidder and his wife Mary, brother Donald Kidder and his wife Marjorie, and her sister Gertrude Boisseau and her husband Paul. Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 12 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Calling hours will be held in the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, Ayer on Sunday, August 14th from 3pm to 6pm.
