Dorothy Mae Carroll

Dorothy Mae Carroll, known to her loved ones as Dot, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023 with her daughters by her side, at the age of 87 in Ayer, Massachusetts. Born on August 5, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dot was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Dot was a strong, kind, and generous woman who dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was a hardworking individual who owned and operated Lexington Cleaners, a successful dry cleaning business in Lexington, Massachusetts, for many years. After selling her business, Dot continued to work diligently as an associate in the lawn and garden department at Walmart. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dot had a passion for various hobbies. She found joy in gardening, capturing precious moments through photography, observing the beauty of birds in nature, and creating intricate knitted pieces. These hobbies brought her immense happiness and allowed her to express her creativity and love for the world around her. Dot's memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Lynne Stuart and her husband Mike, Karen Stecchi and her husband Ray, and Donna Carlo. She was a loving grandmother to Brandon Stuart and his girlfriend Theresa, William Stecchi and his fiancée Emily Rose, James Stecchi, Sarina Phatthammachack and her husband Eric, and Cherisse Carlo. Dot was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Rory and Otto Freeman, Brody and Bryce Phatthammachack, and Juliana Stecchi. Dot was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Heath, her parents, Russell and Hazel Carroll, and her sister, Barbara Wells. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. In honor of Dot's life and her impact on those around her, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to charities of one's choice. This will allow each individual to support causes that hold personal significance and continue Dot's legacy of kindness and generosity. Dot's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.
