Doris Ann (LeClair) Vallee

FITCHBURG: Doris Ann (LeClair) Vallee, 101, of Fitchburg died Saturday, October 12, 2025 at Life Care Center of Leominster. Doris was born in Winchendon, September 2, 1924, a daughter of Salus and Eva (Beauvais) LeClair and was a lifelong resident of Fitchburg. When her mother passed at the age of 49, 15-year-old Doris stepped in to help her father take care of the household and her 2 younger siblings, Theresa and Leo. It was this act of duty and love that forged a lifetime of caring for others. While in this role, she honed her baking skills and will always be remember for her incredible peanut butter fudge. Never comfortable with compliments or willing to give herself credit for all that she did, she would be the first to share the accomplishments of others, especially those of her grandchildren. Doris had a childlike enthusiasm for the simple things in life. She was excited about family get togethers, holidays and trips to the Christmas Tree Shoppe. For over 20 years, Doris worked alongside her sister, Terry, in the cafeteria at St. Joseph School in Fitchburg. Together they poured their love and caring for the students they fed into little extras to make the daily meals special. Not only did she enjoy baking, but she is affectionately known for her love of chocolate, receiving many boxes of Russel Stover’s at holidays to replenish her waning supply. In her later years, she enjoyed the quieter activities of her wordsearch puzzles and spending time with family. During her short, final stay at LifeCare Center, she was able to enjoy Bingo, Ice Cream Socials and Music events thanks to help of the kind staff. Although she lived a long and good life, her quick wit and kindness will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves her daughter, Renee Gaitan of Fitchburg; her sister, Theresa Fortier of Fitchburg; her daughter in law, Maryann LaPointe of Leominster; three grandchildren, Audrey Gaitan, Michelle L. Butler, Rick LaPointe and his wife, Amanda; two great grandchildren, Kyleigh Butler and Lily Grace LaPointe. In 1996 she was predeceased by her husband, Rene J. Vallee, Jr. and in 2021 by her son, Richard E. LaPointe. She was also the sister of the late Victor LeClair, Leo LeClair, Jeannette Mathieu, Pauline Auger and the grandmother of Jonathan Butler who died on October 8th of this year. Doris’ family wishes to extend their grateful thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Leominster for the wonderful care provided to her during her recent stay there. Doris’ funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Doris’ family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation period from 9:30- 10:30 AM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg.
