Barbara J. (Leming) Harrison

Barbara Jean (Leming) Harrison, 89, formerly of Pepperell, MA; Merrimack, NH; and most recently New Ipswich, NH passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, September 12, 2024 in the Leominster Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Barbara was born in Cincinnati, OH on June 17, 1935, daughter of the late Russell G. and Ada (Muegel) Leming. Barbara worked in the Real Estate Field and was a hostess at the Hilton Hotel in Nashua. She worked at New England Business Service lastly until her retirement. She loved her home and her family. She was especially fond of dogs and enjoyed spending time with her granddogs. She had a beautiful voice and spent many years singing for choirs. She was a singing member of the “Hot Shots” touring singing group who performed for hospitals, nursing homes and senior centers. Bible study was important to her, and she was very knowledgeable in her Religion. Barbara had a passion for clouds, and she would often look up at the sky and comment how beautiful the clouds were. She always had her nose in a good book. She leaves behind her daughter Deborah (Sheldon) Vogt and son-in-law John of Ashby, MA; son Michael Sheldon of Georgetown, TX; daughter Julie (Sheldon) Arpin and son-in-law Robert of New Ipswich, NH. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Katie (Hebb) Covell with husband Andrew, Adam Sheldon, Kyle Sheldon with fiancée Meghan, Blake Sheldon with wife Samantha, Melissa Sheldon, Nicole (Sheldon) Taylor with husband Tim, William Arpin with wife Sara, Timothy Arpin with wife Kate, Benjamin Arpin with wife Emily, Russell Arpin with wife Erica. In addition, she was Blessed with 15 great grandchildren: Charlie, Trevor, Brennan, Mariah, Nathan, Reed, Lydia, Quinn, Brynley, Luke, Cali, Mila, Isabella (Izzy), Caitlin, Madelyn (Maddie) and one great grandson on the way plus many nephews, nieces and friends. She is predeceased by her first husband George Sheldon, second husband James Harrison, son Gregory Sheldon and two brothers, Michael and Robert Leming. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11 AM in the Glenwood Cemetery, on 719 Main St. in Ashby, MA. The T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to your local Animal Rescue/Shelter Organization.
