Robert J. Gaudet
Fitchburg: Robert J. Gaudet, 90, formerly of Plymouth Street, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Life Care Center of Leominster
Mr. Gaudet was born in Fitchburg, April 14, 1923, a son of Charles and Delina (Girouard) Gaudet and was a lifelong resident of Fitchburg.
He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, and later received a CAGS from Assumption College in Worcester. He continued his education at Boston College.
For nearly 40 years, Mr. Gaudet worked for the Town of Orange School System as a principal in the elementary level, retiring in 1987.
He was a daily communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association and the National Association of School Administrators. He was adept at “fixing things” around his home and enjoyed working with his power tools. He loved a good flea market or yard sale.
He leaves a sister in law, Mary Gaudet of Gardner and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Francis Gaudet, Edward Gaudet, Archie Gaudet, Rudolph Gaudet, Lillian Gaudet, Dorothy Rivard, Beatrice Benson, Emma Messier and Edna Mullin.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
