Carmen (Sanchez) VazquezAyer: Carmen (Sanchez) Vazquez, 89, Vernon Street, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 , at Apple Valley Center, AyerHer husband of 54 years, Carmelo Vazquez died in February 2000.
She is survived by four sons, Carmelo Vazquez Jr. of N. Chelmsford, Hector Vazquez of Ayer, Alberto Vazquez of Ballground, GA, Edwin Vazquez of Shirley; a brother, Miguel Sanchez of Puerto Rico; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. For twenty years Mrs. Vazquez worked at the George Frost Company in Shirley, retiring in 1969. She was an active member of the Federated Church in Ayer. She was also a member of the Ayer Women’s Club and Ayer Golden Agers. She was an accomplished seamstress and had provided alterations for the P.N. Laggis Company in Ayer. ArrangementsA funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information. The family will receive family and friends on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Mrs. Vazquez was born in Puerto Rico, April 1, 1922, a daughter of Temoteo and Marea L. (Sanchez) Colon and has resided in Ayer for over 40 years.

It was with great saddness that we heard the news. She was a wonderful woman who brought smiles to those around her. She was gracious and caring and would always great us with the love and appreciation that she showed to her own family. We will miss her very much. I am so sorry to hear of Carmen’s passing. She & my mother were friendly many years ago. She was a lovely woman.
