Mr. O'Toole
|
In 1935 Richard J. O'Toole opened
the O'Toole Funeral Home on Washington Street in Ayer and served the families in the
area well for over four decades. In 1983 the funeral home was acquired by the
Anderson family and was subsequently renamed. Although Mr. O'Toole passed
away in 2003, his commitment to the communities he served remains strong with
the funeral directors and staff of the Anderson Funeral Homes.

In the twenty
years since Mr. O'Toole retired, the population of the Nashoba Valley has grown
significantly and our business was no exception. Our funeral home on Washington
Street had become too small for our needs and in May 2003 we began construction
of a new funeral home.
In December 2003,
we moved to our new facility at Twenty Five Fitchburg Road, approximately ¾ mile west
outside of downtown Ayer. Our new 5300 square foot facility is wonderfully designed
to meet the needs of the communities we serve. The parking area is suitable for
over 90 cars in the well illuminated lot. The funeral home is fully handicapped
accessible, has large visitation rooms as well as a comforting décor. Not to
be overshadowed by such a beautiful facility are the funeral directors and staff
that have always been committed to providing a caring service during such a
trying time.

From Rte 2 East and West
Exit 38 Rte 110/111 toward Ayer & Groton. Travel Approx 2
miles to a traffic rotary. Take 3rd right off rotary to the downtown
area of Ayer. Go over the railroad bridge and continue through the
center of town. Take a right at Sovereign Bank to stay on Route 2A.
The funeral home is ¾ of a mile on your right, across from Hannaford
Market.

Exit 30 Littleton/Ayer Rte 2 A. Follow Rte 2A West 4 miles to a traffic rotary.
Take second right off the rotary Go over the railroad bridge and continue
