To my sister and I, Ann was our “babysitter” but more than that she was our friend, and she was oh so cool. We went out to eat with Ann, visited Big Lou and Big Marge, hung out with her friends and laughed at her jokes. She was funny, honest, genuine, kind and smart and yes, a force of natures. Ann would tell us when we were wrong, but advocated for us when we were right. We sang along to “Brandy, your a fine girl” and Diana Ross, with her in her car; imitated Flip Wilson’s riff’s on the double sided Flip and Geraldine talking doll and she welcomed us into her world. For me, she was the big sister I never had and I’ll treasure the memories of her. Ironically, daughter Andrea and my sister Roberta work together at TJ Maxx. When Roberta found out that Andrea worked there, she called me to tell me and we talked about finding a time for us to all get together. Sadly, we thought we had plenty of time, because we always assumed that Ann would be there. Once again, Ann has taught us a very important lesson: Don’t assume. Just do. Thanks Ann for being a part of our lives. To her many family and friends, our deepest sympathy.
